This corner lot in Highland Park needed needed a renovation. Our approach was to integrate drought tolerant and native plant materials into this sub-urban site.

Arizona flagstone, decomposed granite, golden barrel cactus, blue fescue grass, Mexican feather grass, red aeonium.
LANDSCAPE PLAN
This plans shows our choices of plant materials and locations. The strategy involves, varying scales of stone, complementary colors (reds and greens), undulating topography and modifying architectural colors.
SOUTHEAST CORNER
This image shows the agave garden to the right on the east side and the succulent and grasses garden to the left on the southwestern side. we integrated the thick Arizona slabs with the existing sidewalk.
SOUTH GARDEN-SUCCULENTS AND GRASSES
On the south portion of the property along the sidewalk, is the native succulent and grasses garden. The red flax and the red aeoniums are grouped to highlight their similar colors and texture.
AGAVE GARDEN
We designed the east side of the property to connect to the backyard. native agaves line the flagstone path to the backyard. The entry to the backyard is framed by bouganvilla, French lavender and red fountaingrass.
ENTRY
This is the entry at the corner of the property. We have placed large slabs of stone as a walkway and used native agaves and decomposed granite as a ground cover.
AGAVE GARDEN
The agave garden is at the east side of the property along the sidewalk. We have placed the species of agaves in groups with the senecio and the blue fescue native grasses between.
